The 2019 Family Adventure Summit runs from Oct 2-6, 2019. Check out our full schedule to see our growing list of workshops, discussions, panels, activities, and keynote speeches.
We will be running a full children’s program (ages 5-18), and a little’s program (aged 2-4) while the adults are attending their sessions. Children under 2 are required to stay with their parents. There are also special activities exclusively for the teens.
There will be something for every child including project-based learning, full group games, and an open art room. Learn more about our Children’s program here.
While the Family Adventure Summit is the best way we know to meet hundreds of other inspiring families who are intent on living lives of purpose and adventure, if you’re looking for a more intimate retreat-style event, then we invite you to consider the At Home in the World Family Retreats.
The main focus is on fostering deeper connections as a family and living “At Home” in the world wherever we are. Our fun and transformative family learning program is mindfully designed and facilitated along with leading psychologist and children’s mindfulness educator, Jelena Popovic. This is truly a “retreat”, and not just a series of package tours – allowing deep introspection and discussion about important topics for your personal and family growth.
And, of course, we’ll get the chance to experience some of the most beautiful, local, and culturally unique aspects of these locations!
The retreat in Bali is at a beautiful zero-waste resort surrounded by rice fields, with food grown from its own organic, hydroponic garden. It’s held over the wondrous Nyepi holiday (Feb/March), with its ogoh-ogoh monsters paraded to the sound of gamelan music, followed by the island’s day of silence.
The retreat in Transylvania is at the foot of a scenic mountain range in a traditional Transylvanian resort with wood-cabin accommodations and fun outdoor activities, and is held over the 1000 Székely Girls festival (July) where families from all over the region arrive in horse drawn carriages and traditional dress for a day of song, dance, food, and handicrafts.
This is just a taste of what you can expect at the retreat. If this sounds like it would be of interest or benefit to your family, we encourage you visit the website to learn more.
To preserve the intimate nature of this retreat, each location is limited to just ten families, so register soon to reserve your place. And we hope to see you there!
The Family Adventure Summit donates 100% of its profits to organizations and projects in the various local communities where the event is held.
Every dollar you spend with Family Adventure Summit goes toward creating an epic and inspiring event for you and your family, and all the families present, and also toward supporting the communities in which we visit.
In 2018 our chosen charity is Caminos de Agua, a local group that brings clean drinking water to communities in San Miguel de Allende that have none. The water that comes from the taps in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico is highly contaminated with fluoride and arsenic. Many communities have no choice but to drink that water and it is literally poisoning people!
We are teaming up with Caminos de Agua to provide two huge rainwater capture systems at a local school. These systems will provide enough clean drinking water for the entire school!
If you would like to help us to build even more rainwater capture systems around San Miguel, Caminos de Agua is ready to take your donations. Every dollar counts and your donation will be rewarded with the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve helped make a difference in the lives of the local people in the outskirts of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
