Cultivating Cultural Understanding With/in Our Children
What does “mindful parenting” mean in a global or worldschooling context? How are our children impacted by what we are exposing to them in the world, and how do children’s own cultural identities (gender, race, ethnicity, language, ability, etc.) impact those whom they come into contact with? This roundtable seeks to deepen dialogue and attention to how travels, conscious parenting, and worldschooling can cultivate cultural understanding through exposure to new places and communities. Participants will share experiences, challenges, questions, and strategies, facilitated along with knowledge around developmental milestones around awareness of culture – which is critical in considering purposeful parenting and schooling.
